Food and the Global Political Economy

Abstract As part of the roundtable, “Ethics and Future Global Food System,” this essay examines how key decisions within global system food production are shaped by organization political economy. The understanding economy follows standard definitions that focus on dominant market practices institutional structures which those embedded. I identify examples policies structurally impair ability states to secure human rights their citizens, explain specific issues structural injustice raised each example. conclusion provides a survey range alternative solutions for transforming creating conditions more just ecologically sustainable system. Ultimately, our conception mechanisms protection enforcement must change in order address scale gravity problems affecting future agriculture feed world.
